Paper submission guidelines for authors

PSIVT2010 proceedings will be published by Conference Publishing Service. All papers submitted must comply with the publication requirements by Conference Publication Service and will be copyrighted by IEEE if published.

Papers should be written in English. All papers must be submitted in electronic format as PDF files in our online paper submission system before the submission deadline. No other format will be accepted. There is a 10 MB limit on the uploaded file size. To publish the paper in the symposium proceedings, one of the authors must register at full registration rate and present the paper in the symposium.

Maximum Paper Length

Paper length is limited to six double-column pages using the Latex or Word templates available in the author’s kit below. The paper should be written as if it is already the camera-ready version. There is an allowance of 2 extra pages. A paper exceeding the maximum limit of 8 pages will be rejected without review. The extra page is charged at USD100 per page.

Double Blind Review

PSIVT2010 review is double blind, in that authors do not know the names of the area chair/reviewers of their papers, and area chairs/reviewers do not know the names of the authors. All papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee and may be accepted for oral or poster presentation. Authors are advised not to reveal their identity in the paper, especially when self-citing your previous work and your experimental data. A paper failed to observe the double-blind policy will be rejected without a review.

Note: Many authors misunderstand the concept of anonymizing for blind review. Blind review does not mean that one must remove citations to one's own work — in fact it is often impossible to review a paper unless the previous citations are known and available. Blind review means that you do not use the words “my” or “our” when citing previous work. That is all. Also remember to avoid information that may identify the authors in the acknowledgments (e.g. co-workers and grant IDs) and experimental data.

Dual Submission Policy

By submitting a manuscript to PSIVT2010, the author(s) assert that it has not been previously published in substantially similar form. Furthermore, no paper which contains significant overlap with the contributions of this paper either has been or will be submitted during the PSIVT2010 review period to either a journal or a conference.

If there are any papers that may appear to the reviewers to violate this condition, then it is your responsibility to

  1. cite these papers (preserving anonymity), and
  2. argue in the body of your paper why your PSIVT2010 paper is nontrivially different from these concurrent submissions.

Author Kit

Please refer to the Call for Papers for the goals and scope of PSIVT.
Papers must be no longer than 8 two-column pages, using the following format:

  • LaTeX template (please click here)
  • MS Word template (please click here)
  • Example PDF document with formatting instructions (please click here)

Please download and use the templates. Papers must be submitted in PDF format only using the Online Submission System .

(Note that the system also accepts MS word files with .doc/.docx extensions. However, the preferred format is still PDF, especially for the camera ready which must be in IEEE Compliant PDF. All supplementary material must be in one compressed zip file and subject to the file size limit).

Paper registration and submission is handled through:

https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/PSIVT2010/(The paper submission system is now open till July 5th, 2010.)

To submit a paper, please follow the following steps:

1. Register your Submission

The following information are required :-
  -  Paper Title;
  -  Technical Area, i.e. an Area Track according to the Call for Papers, for the Paper;
  -  Title, Name, Affliation, Country and Email Address of each Author

If you have not registered an acoount with PSIVT2010, complete the Sign Up process. Then, login to the system using the Login ID and password entered by you in the Sign Up process. If you login for the first time, you need to declare your conflict domains. You can update these later.

You need to obtain a paper number for each paper submission. To do this, just create a new submission without uploading the paper. After entering the required fileds, click the Submit Button. You will see the paper ID assigned to this submission from the summary of your submission page. Write the paper number in your paper instead of your names and affiliation.

You can add more authors to the paper by clicking the add author button.

The paper must be submitted in Portable Document Format (pdf) file (files with .doc/.docx are also accpeted). An Abstract of the paper in plain ASCII text should also be provided with the submission. You should see a section for File Upload on the page where you enter your paper details. Please upload the file by selecting the browse button to find your file on your computer and select your file on your computer. Then, click the upload button. Finally, click the submit button at the bottom of the page. After you return to the page where you create this submission, you can further edit your submission by clicking the edit submission button.

Papers that fail to observe the guidelines will be automatically rejected without review.

3. Updating the uploaded paper and changing the track.

Yes, you can do this before the paper submission deadline. To update a paper submission, you delete the uploaded file and then upload a new one. You can edit the paper details by clicking the edit button for a submission.
